yup Ali and PYE21 are runnign the compbrake setup.
i will need to dig out the actual figures, but it is alot.
The standard discs and callipers weigh so much!!
An AP Racing setup would be nice. Does anyone know much about Godspeed? They offer a kit.

Hes only down the road from me but I am still to meet him! I dont think the phone number is working at the moment either - I have been trying to speak to him for the last couple of weeks. From poeple I know though he is supposed to be s**t hot with brakes - I think Fred (yozzasport) knows him quite well
Locking the wheels isn't braking, its skidding!!!!!!
Proper bracking is modulate before the 'locking' occurs.
On mountain bikes, you can lock the wheels with a set of rusty u-brakes at the right speeds/ with the right roads conditions.
Would anyone ride a nats downhill course with u-brakes over discs?
Ive not seen anyone thats gone from standard brakes to 4-pots say they're a waste of time, yet plenty that havnt tried them have said that you dont need them. Go figure...

If you manage to get in touch drop me a pm with any info.
Does that GDI Wilwood kit fit under the std 172 wheels? Doesn't say whether it does or not.. just that it fits under the Turinis
Actually, Fred says his standards are better than Yoz's 4Pots, and Brian admits he doesnt like his Brembo kit.
Is there anywhere that sells the Brembo kit?
I have never understood why the standard setup is not sufficient. I remember reading somewhere that, upon release, the phase 1 172 would go from 60-0 faster than a Ferrari 360.
I've recently gone from standard to Brembo HC discs, Ferrodo DS2500 pads, braided lines and AP 5.1 fluid, on track they're great, don't see the need for 4 pots.

For one application...
all the talk of locking the wheels up etc, yes its true that standard setup can lock the wheels at say 20, 30, 40 mph but they wont do it at 100mph like a set of powerful 4 pots will.
Not that you want to be locking your wheels at those speeds mind!
Many people are quick to dismiss 4 pots when they have never tried them. And many dismiss them as a few 'experts' claim you dont need them.
But for the ultimate in braking power, in a clio, you cant beat a good set of 4 pots.
This isnt me trying to sell kits either, its just cold hard facts. The whole reason we had the kit made as at the time there was no 4 pot setup that would run behind 15 inch wheels.
carry on...
