4 WHEEL DRIVE BY RENAULT?

  clio 200 F4Rt
surely you would have to fabricate a transmission tunnel etc etc?

the amount of work would be crazy!

worth it tho i reckon!

might be worth finding out the transmission losses too. as no point in doing it if with the trans losses and extra weight, its no faster than a lightly tuned 1*2.

yea, well im gona look into it tonite, the only way its goin 4 wheel drive is with a second engine i think,

tom id use the 172 subframes and just custom mount the rest, custom probs, wishbones etc

with twin engine, dont both engines have to be identical spec?

so if your s/c & t/b's, you gotta do it twice! you won the lottery or something!??!?!

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
LOL na, the engine(s) is being built for me, but the rest of the stuff, coilovers, bushes, roll cage, mounts, part of engine work, intecooler, engine(s) out/in etc, is me.

i just like f**king with cars and spending money.

i thought that but then thought of that lupo with the r32 lump and seat lump (i know there both vag ) but they were totally differnt spec's.

if it comes to it ill have to supercharger, cams, headwork, pistons, rods, ITbs, ecu them both:dapprove: and the rest of the s**t, injectors, clutch, box, chargecoolers, Nos, fuel pumps, mounts, oil coolers, rebiulds, yarda yarda yarda

Why don't you fit traction bars?
Or replace the rear shocks with iron bars?

Incase you were considering using the RX4 running gear it weighs 175kg on top of the existing transmission, uses a modified JC7 box.

Should you be able to fit the rear suspension, you need a 80mm high transmission tunnel (cant give width, as i don't have data) and you need to remove the boot floor.

You would need to redesign the manifold and the exhaust to clear the transmission.

Apart from that its easy.

Heres a kangoo with it fitted...

I know of a 4x4 corsa rally car built by Sydney Meeke.
And I saw this Micra at the weekend. Awesome piece of kit. Cost to build was approx 90k.

you'd be better off buying a scrapped kangoo/rx4

as you need to hack most of the parts up as it is.

sadev 6 speed, LSD, road legal slicks would still be awsome. why Itb's and supercharger, surely a single throttle body on the SC inlet and a custon penelum and inlet manifold would be better as its forced induction so gas flowing wont be as important.

i already have the boddies on, just sounds cool and with the itb will make more power with the inlet and plenham design.

Scrap the ITBs and whack a 90mm single body on there. The extra size will easily flow better then your ITBs :clown:

The kangoo trekka and RX4 use 4 wheel drive

WARNING - These transmissions are very unreliable and suffer from lots of problems including gearbox failure ( especially the JC7 scenic unit ) they also suffer from wear on the transaxle bushes and bearings - they cannot cope with excessive torque or power so dont even think of fitting one to a performance clio.

You should have fitted the 1.8 T lump - a TT 4WD box and propshaft would have bolted straight up to this lump. The system is good for 500 bhp and there dirt cheap.

I think this conversion is going to end in tears

tbh if it blows up as long as i can go w**k over the engine in the garage thats fine ! LOL

im loosing the 4 wheel drive idea, it looks messy!

twin engine time!

LOL @mark,. il take a 3000mtr one then

Ive lost track with this conversion now...
Was high reving free flowing, then ITB, then nos, then supercharged, then turbo'ed now 4x4 and a combination of all the above with two engines LOL :clown:

Im lost!

Ben.....just take the electric motor out of your Mothers dildo - hook it up to a milk float battery with a Unimog 16 speed box and run it on high octane horse plss ??
