i was planning on gettin the Alpine Type R ones, as ive already got an Alpine 9812RR head unit, 2 Alpine Amps, and an Alpine Type R sub........

are they ok ?.......

im no audio expert and if there is another set which is only slightly diff in sound quality i honestly probably wouldnt notice.....

if poss i want all Alpine but if there is a set for the same money which are considerably better, then i may go for those

I personally dont think there is a make that is good at everything, just like with home hifi. Id keep checking ebay as you can get some bargains at silly prices. Budget for a good speaker cable too if u havent already.

As you have an alpine set up already it may be safe to go down that route. Getting other brands would require matching as some may be too bright or too dull.

Do like my MB Quart and have heard food stuff about the Focal and Polk Momo. Check ebay for either and u may find better speakers for your budget.

i was in halfords the other day and the best ones i heard were focals. the tweeters didnt give out TOO much treble compared to the others

well that is very surprising, from my experience with Focal they are very top heavy with the treble

Try listen to a set of Alpine SPX-137As - granted not far off treble the price but wow...
