5 year old clio

Hi

My fiancae's 1.2 2003 clio is just coming up to 5 years old.

Renault did one of those free health checks and identified around about £700 worth of work.

Now i have priced it privately and its still coming out at around £550 for service, cambelt (and associated bits) and coolant change.

Does this sound ok?

do it your self and you could knock it down from 550, to about 250! as thats what i did

renault will find things that dont need changing

like your coolent just needs checking for strength not changing completely

cambelts kinda important though, and the associated pullys, and if it were my car aux belt and pullys would get done at the same time

Unfortunately i'm not well enough qualified for that.

I'll do brakes, oil filters etc but thats about as far as i can go.

The other thing it needs is brake fluid which i didn't get a price for, so guess its gonna be £580 ish

1.2 cambelts are real simple, get a haynes manual and u cant go wrong
