My 1.2 needed a top up at 7000 but i changed it all. I dont see why youd need to empty and refill, a top up will suffice. Change it before your service.
I would have changed oil & filter earlier ~2k with Mobil 1 + Reno filter .... but then thats me! I remember the state of my of my original 172 oil at 1.5K .... yuuuk! £40 is cheap insurance if you are caning your car IMHO!
Mate if it dont need oil it dont need oil, its as simple as that. The oil change is at your first service, do that yourself purely as youll save a hefty charge
I have just spoken to Kwik Fit and they seem confident that they can get the part, if I go in on Saturday and find the dont have it I wont be very happy. Ill have to consider my options. At the National Tyres price it would be worth going there and supplying my own oil!
hmmm weird! lucky sod! ive been to 3 diff kwik fits, one in catford one in Bromley (kent) and One when in Scotland! (Edinburgh) and none of em had the part.
Although be careful and make sure they have got it right, cos at first they said they had it, but only after i looked at the order book did i correct them that it was the 2.0litre williams one they had.
All quik fits in England order out of one book, and the only 2.0litre clio in there is a williams, it says 138bhp or something. when i explained it was a 172 they said they couldnt do it!
Had mine done at Kwick Fit Maidstone, but they wont do another one in a hurry! See my how many muppets post on the General forum. These guys ordered it off a computer and it fit perfectly.
Just did my 6,000 mile oil change. What a bi*ch the 1,500 mile one was easier but only a little. I swear by Silkolene Pro 5w 40 as recommended to me by Brun the oil God.
