7950 gx2 help

Guys,

basically running a 650 watt power unit, and it keeps coming up in windows not enough power to graphics card. any ideas anyone?

Is it a good 650w - or a cheapo unit? Some of the cheaper units can be at least a third if not more off what they say.

well its was 75 buck so yeah pretty good and its sli rated.

What make is it? Are you using a PCI-e power connector for it or two molex's using the supplied adapter?

If you're using two molex's are you using seperate rails or have you got both molex's from a single rail attached to the card?

Does the graphics card need 2 molex power connections like the 6800 Ultra? if it does, make sure they both come from a different 12v rail.

its made by Akasa and yes the connectors are on seperate rails.

Could simply be a faulty PSU mate.

its not my comp like just doing bulid for someone else, is there anyway i can test the psu? its obviously running everything else.

I'm running a 7950GX2 with a 520w PSU no dramas

aye read your build like roy! How big a bloody card is the 7950gx2 lol its massive my 6800 ultra looked tiny in comparsion and it was big lol

going to strip it down and rebulid i think

problem solved, lol opened it up and its a bloody lose connection! due to the tab been broken off!! change and no messages now lol!!! thanks guys
