90 - 100 amp Fuse

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
i didnt think you could get more than 80 in glass fuses?

Try switching to ANL switches, they go upto 300amps, maybe more.
However what size witring are you running?

tbh 80 amp is too big in that style of fuse

yeah get a 120 amp(if you can but if not a 100) ANL fuse and holder

lol there's many factors to take into account when selecting the correct fuse

but yeah they should do the trick.

but do you know when the 80A fuse "blew"? was it when you started the car?

Nah, I noticed it today. It could of happend when i was charging them.?
The other day the car didn't start, I thought what both battery flat NEVER. But i charged them any way. Today i took a look and the fuse is 'blown' So it could of been any thing.

yeah well but that time it might be too late;)

unless of course what you was running was pulling more than 100A (about the lowest amount to "blow" an 80A )@ normal running load

  Vectra :(
I am with Dink, i would be checking things before upping the fuse size. The only reason it would have blowen as said would be something pulling 90-100A

The only way this wouldnt be the case is if the 80amp fuse was old, i mean 5-6 years old. Fuses degrade over time and as such after a number of years its not unusual for a 80amp fuse to blow with as little as 60-70amp load.

Better to be on the safe side tho and check the loading before uprating the fuse. At the end of the day the 80amp fuse worked before and didnt blow so it should be enough unless you have added something or there is a fault

Only things i have been doing.

Alot of engine starts/stops about 30 in a day.
Charging both batterys with a house charger.

(If i put a 100amp in, And that blows then i no its some thing that i need to look into.) thats how i look at it :D
Thats about it :)

thats what !might! of killed it the repeated starts (i imagine a starter motor pulls a fair amount of current) casing some metal fatige in the fuse wire

J

jamesy

agu only go up to 80amp you then need to start using anl for current draw in excess of that;)
