95 Clio 1.2 Sleeper

  Street Sleeper Clio
Hi Guys,

My Clio is currently in my mates workshop.
I've got an F7P engine, box and exhaust ready to go into it.
The car it's self, is a 1995, Renault Clio 1.2 injection, so the engine swap should be fairly straight forward in terms of electrics etc.

Gonna be sticking the valve clocks in it, and a Williams steering wheel for comfort when driving.

But I really need to up suspension, tyres and brakes for this engine.

In an ideal world, I'd like to stick with 13's. However I've got a set of 14" wheels which are currently on my Girlfriends Clio, which will be coming off once I find her a nice set of wheels.
So potentially, it will have 14" steel wheels fitted, and probably 175/60-14 tyres, which are reasonably priced, and have a similar rolling radius to the 155/70-13s which are currently fitted.
Unless anybody can suggest me a more suitable size of tyre to run?

So, What are peoples views on running half decent brakes, under 14 (or maybe ever 13) inch wheels?
My mate suggested brakes from a Megane of a similar age?

Suspension, I am assuming the rear beam is the same as the R5 beam?
So I can lower it in the same way, and then fit a set of dampers from a valver, or a Williams?
And then there is front suspension.

Not only is the car not worth enough to justify them, I cant really afford to throw money at a set of Coilovers.
So what is the deal with suspension up from?

I dont want it slammed as I will be towing a small bike trailer with it.
but I want it to handle some what respectable when I'm driving it.
So will Williams shocks go straight on?

Any help much appreciated!

Sorry for all the questions, It's my first Clio.
I know my way around an R5 like the back of my hand, so I am assuming the Clio will be very similar.

On a side note, Roxanne's Clio has cleaned up pretty nice.
Just after a new set of lights for it, as they've faded.
And a new grill.
