98 1.4 RT engine

Not after performance figs. How good are these engines in general? I'm looking at one for the mrs which has 101k miles on the clock..

Solid. Very reliable, keep doing oil and filter changes on it and it'll run for years. Cambelts easy todo, clutch is easy todo, headgasket is easy todo. You can't go wrong. I gave my old one death everywhere and couldn't kill it. Not once did it miss, cut out, not start.

I've seen one with 150k+ on easy. There not as slow as you'd think.

My mate has this car, it is an S reg in blue.

To be honest I think it is nicer to drive than my dynamique.

Feels more torquey and the steering is heavier which I like.

Although it doesn't take corner anywhere near as well.

Still much better than the alternative, corsa B or saxo etc.., for style and drive

Do you mean the 1.4 energy engine? If so they are very reliable as long as you service it regularly, hear of ones still going stong at more than 200k miles.

Aye mine never missed a beat, and it didnt have an easy life! Sold it on 90k still going strong
