A Clio from Portugal

  Clio MkII PhII dCi
Hi there!

I'm Gonçalo Pina and I live in Lisbon, Portugal!

I usually read your forum and now i've decided to register. Unfortunately I don't have a Clio Sport, I'm ridding a Clio 1.5 dCi 80hp. It has a Powergate and now he has 120hp. Maybe in a couple of years I would buy a Sport... lets see how live goes on.

For now here are some photos of my car:

Hi and welcome.

Don't worry about not having a RenaultSport model, this is ClioSport, all Clio's welcome mate.

Car looks good anyway, best it's nice having 120bhp in a diesel with all that extra torque!

If he gets stopped and the police men want to, they can apreend his car and make him put it back to its original state.

Well, if you avoid streetracing hotspots, meeting areas or such, you can prolly never get stopped, but you never know... :(

Colour codings a bit odd! And not a huge fan of the grafix but other than that pretty nice.

Thats how the colour coding comes from Renault on the lower models

Thanks for the welcome!!

What manji said it's not absolutely true... but almost!! :D

If the police wants, they can fine me... but not apreend my car because all the parts I've added are Renault original and I've papers that allow me to use them on my car. All the parts... except the tires... they should be 185 but they are 195 :)

Now some words for my portuguese friend's...

Cambada... Manji, não sabia k andavas por aqui!! Tá mt bem... o nosso forum devia ser cm este... só Sports por todo o lado :cool:

When any of you come to Portugal tell me or Manji and we arrange a meeting to show you the Portuguese Clios

And the OMP strut bar? Lowering springs? Repro? :D
Anyway, you're probably never be stopped. At least I wasn't in the 2 years I had my tuned G40. But it's sad, though. :\

We live in Lisbon... if you want to visit Lisbon go to www.clioteam.com and tell there that you would like to meet with us.

Here is my dyno test after the repro:

repro2.jpg

Potência normal means rule power;
Potência do motor means engine power;
Potência da roda means wheel power;
Potência de reboque means dissipate power.

I'm not very worried about the police. The OMP struct bar is legal!! The repro... no one knows... and with the powergate I can easily return to stock :D The springs... :approve:... lets hope that no police man had a bad day :cool:

:)

why are you not allowed to modify cars over there??

Edit: doesn't matter just seen in another post why you can't. Doesn't really seem that fair:dapprove:

Thanks!! ;)

Scott, here in Portugal everyone thinks that if you modify your car you are a racer... Of course we like to race... but we have some places to do it like Estoril, where the World Series by Renault were. In my case, I have to go every year to an inspection... they test everything... brakes, springs, exhaust system... and if they find anything that they dislike... I can't drive my car!!! :S Even if you have a small sticker in the front window saying Renault (or something like that) they say that your car isn't secure to drive (low visibility) :rolleyes:

Well... talking about RWS... I did a lap in a Clio Cup... it was great... check the video and some photos: http://mega.ist.utl.pt/~gcpi/Clio/RWS/.

Hey, welcome to ClioSport

Your car looks great - love the wheels :)
The logo's on the doors spoil it a bit, but if you like them - your shout!

Can't help noticing you have a dci 80 with a bhp increase...
What engine mods have you done?
I also have a dci 80 and would like an air filter/maybe more bhp;
Already got a Tuning box comming :evil:

Hi Tigger! I've a BMC Replacement filter: http://www.bmcairfilters.com/infoOEM.asp

And I've a Powergate. It work like an hard disk that contains 3 repros + the original one. It doesn't need to be always connected to the car. I only need to copy the selected repro to the ECU once and then it stays there till I want to change it again. Check it out: http://www.alientech.to/
The repros were made by a portuguese specialist and the result, as you can see, was great!!

Anything else, just ask!! ;)

You got a remap then??

I have a Dragon T-box comming for mine soon

Does your panel filter make any difference to the noise?

Yes, I've got 3 remaps in the Powergate, low, medium and high performance. The dyno test was made with the high performance remap.

No, not at noise. You feel the car a little bit more powerful at low rotation, nothing else.

What's the expected hp with that box??

Ok - I'm thinking of getting a cone filter for mine and positioning it so the duct runs where the std renault one is, give a little grunt.

Not too fussy on power as it is a derv/everyday car - ill wait for a 2.0 petrol ;)

What is your highest bhp ?

I'm sorry for my mistake!!

The highest bhp is 117hp... not 86hp like I've said!! Sorry ;)
