a new look williams

i think they should make a new williams clio? just coz the old skool 1s are like high in miles n been raced around. i kno tht it wont b done coz of contracts n sh*t, but wudnt it be nice if a new williams came out? with technology 2day i think it would be better. better than a 182 for example: quicker, handles better, value aswel, wat bout the looks? could some1 do a photoshop of a new clio lookin like a williams, i.e. the blue paint gold alloys... who agrees and disagrees?
 


maybe, but what about the future for us? im 19 n i wanna av a williams but if i get 1 now, i know, u kno that its been ragged n tht n id av repair
 


i just been on this williamsclio.co.uk.. some guy sellin a williams 3, e sed low mileage for the year but its on 89500 miles.. i want a new.. zero miles williams
 


Why would Williams lend their name to anything to do with Renault when they are in bed with BMW?
 


Why would a new Williams be better than the new 182? Renault would be using the same new technology they already have surely?

Unless they just used sh*t parts for the 182 to make it inferior to a ten year old Willy...

with all the new technology it wouldnt be a willy, its a drivers car and IMHO i dont think a drivers car should have any driver aids, i know your gonna hit me with the obvious power steering here lol, but i think if u have a willy, with no PS and no other driver aids, i think it would be an awesome toy.

Still no naples valver though ;)

Plus it would look sh*t with a bonnet vent and a buldge!!!

so what about if they did bring out a new clio, from the renualt sport team, 2ltr 200bhp, with ps.. the traction control on or off .. looked better than a rx8 inside, wat wud u do buy?

For a 10 year old car that is fairly low! - Average of 10k miles a year would put it 100k average for year!!

If you are after a brand new Williams then thats obviously the wrong site for you as there will ever only be one Clio Williams. If there was one with near zero miles I doubt you would ever be able to afford it :D

Renault got it right, the Williams was always described as "superb handling" "pocket rocket" etc. - They would have to come up with something special to carry on the Williams Clio - It was a venture for the sole reason that they could compete in the French rally (and others I think!).

The 182, 172 etc. is what Renault have learned from cars like the Williams and are all described pretty much the same as the Williams - but they have no reason to make a special edition - The Williams is a piece of history - A new day Williams would be a badged up 182/172 which as it stands is already a superb car!! - Then theres the V6 which covers that area for people that want a clio gone mad and totally different - Why would you want a new style Williams with that sort of choice??

So I tottally disagree with your idea - Some people :cry:

By all means stick some gold alloys on a blue 182 and stick on some Williams stickers - but whats the point? - It will always be 182 - The Williams was different and can never be recreated.
 


plus the repairs and problems are all part of the willy/16v loveable characters!!!

i would have a willy over any other 2l clio, i just think the look the best, sound the best, and turn more heads than the others.

Err, spring 2006?

Wont be tied in with the F1 division but will be a 200bhp clio. Should still have switchable TC. Looks is something of a talking point, have a search on the new clio and youll see what i mean.



As for remaking a williams, you probably could. If no expense was spared to could build a new one out of new parts, but it wouldnt be worth doing.

IMO 200bhp isnt going to be anything special as most other manufacturers will have moved the game on by then too - if we it now itd be special and would probably warrent as much repect as the williams has/had got but we dont.

In any case theres plenty of williams in good nick out there and, with an engine rebuild, would be as good as new if not better.
 


Well it would look silly because Renault arent associated with William F1 anymore.

It cant never be re-invented.

I think people are forgetting being called a Williams doesnt make it a great car. I think the Cup brand is a good one. Unfortunately theyve already diluted that image by bringing out the pointless 182 Cup.

If the F1 cars went back to being Williams-Renault i think it would be stupid NOT to have a new Williams Clio.
