ABS drives me mad!!

is there any way of stopping my ABS from going apes**t when i brake?it feels like someones strapped a hammer drill to the sole of my foot!!

good point but ive only had the valver a month and its getting a new gearbox and clutch today:) if it fudges up anymore in the next few months i might get shot of it!its only done 62k on a L plate fsh so shouldnt have to many probs flogging it if it comes to that!!

If you dont like the ABS, just remove the 5amp fuse from the fuse board. The braking system will still function perfectly OK but you will have to live with the ABS light on, on the instrument panel. This would fail an MOT, so you would have to put the fuse back in for the test.

Cant really understand why you dont like ABS though?

Isnt that what is supposed to happen? Isnt that juddering feeling, the brakes being activated on the individual wheels - or something like that?

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

Yeah GirlRacer but with the 16v the system sometimes kicks in at slow speed when it doesnt need to and instead of stopping you roll on about 10 metres. Wierd but everyone with a 16v ABS has the same prob so i found. It is very good when coming to a quick stop from 40 onwards but can be a pain at under 15!

Feels like its fecked when it kicks in too.

ABS=more weight=over confidence to the driver when braking

learn to drive without it. Will make you a better one (feeling of the car is a beautifull thing).

its just my opinion. :/

am i rite in thinking that rally cars dont have abs cause the driver has betta contact with the brakes when their in control.

You could not use the ABS and just open the door and shove your foot hard on the road to slow you down I suppose. Personally I would not brake so hard.
