ABS Sensor

  172 Ph1
Just fitted a new axle to my 172 2001, the new axle was off a 51 reg 172. My abs light has come on since fitting the new axle. I used the old discs off my old axle, just wanted to know if the 2001 an 51 reg abs rings are different ie more or less teeth? As maybe the sensor is having trouble reading the teeth.

If i swapped over the discs to the ones that came with the new axle would this take out the light if the teeth are different?

Thanks for any help ;)

Nope teeth are the same, you'd know if they wern't as the ABS would be kicking in all the time. The two rear sensors in correctly and undamaged?

Yeah it has kicked in a few times when normally it would not. Yeah they are undamaged.

Try cleaning the sensors if you can with an old toothbrush or similar, sometimes get oil/grit/dirt on them, failing that new sensor is circa £46 IIRC. Might be worth disconnecting your battery too for 10 minutes while you clean it in case it's logged a fault - don't forget to note your radio code prior to that though :)
