ABS, Service and handbrake warning lights

  Audi S3, Clio 1.2
Hi,

I'm new to the forum and new to clios in general, i've just purchased a 53 reg 1.2 16v as a run about. However the cars got me running about instead!!

It seems to trigger the abs, service and handbrake light all of a sudden as the cars being driven any ideas what this may be would really help!

As for the warning lights they seem to go off once the engine is restarted i've also tried a diagnostic machine and no fault seems to turn up or i've got access to a crap machine!!

Any help would really be appreciated :D

Cheers

Tariq

Hi, Welcome to Cliosport.

A common problem is the ABS, serv and Stop lights to come on its a problem relating to the brake pressure sensors on the pedals they seem to be set too low and set the lights off and logs a fault on the ECU. There is a technical note at Renault for fixing of this under warranty.

See your dealer, and they can fit it in 30 mins.

Oms.

Omar do you know what i need to do to sort the problem out myself! Or how much a "stealer" (dealer) might charge?

So, is your warranty over?

I'm not sure how much it would cost to fix, but it just requires re-calibration of a sensor (usually).

I'd say not more than £30?

Where abouts are you based? If you post your location details, someone on here might read it, and recommend a good local garage.

^^

I've got a 182, with a few discreet handling mods. :)

I have no idea about diagnostic software... sorry!

It'll pick-up again tomorrow, and I'm sure you'll get more replies...

:)

The only decient Renault diagnostic software is the Clip laptop as used by dealers but its £2.7k or so (still it comes with a free laptop).
Check your ABS sensors and rings on the wheels firstly. then brake level bleed the calipers. Then take it to Renault it sould be about £25~50 depends on dealers.
