ABS, TSC, SERV lights come on, felt like I had a flat.

Ive done a fair bit of searching but couldnt find anything definitive that matched my issues.

Driving to work this morning the ABS, TSC and SERV lights come on. A mile or so up the road and I could have swarn I had a flat OS front tyre (car felt wallowy, soft and twictchy) so I dived into the nearest layby and sure enough the ABS didnt kick in and the icey layby cause me slide a little.

Jumped out expecting to have to fill my tyre with foam but to my suprise all tyres were fine and all looked ok. I turned the engine off and back on, and sure enough the lights had gone out.

The next couple of miles the car didnt feel right, as if it had a loose wheel, but after a while it sorted itself out and seemed to drive ok. It drives and stops in a straight line.

Im going to take it to the local garage at lunch to get it on a ramp and checked over, but any ideas what this could be? I know my rear OS shock is a little worn, but this feels like it could be front strut?

Lol I think it might be in your head mate.

Those lights usually pop up when your brake light switch is knackered. Mine does the same thing. Waiting for a switch to be delivered!

Haha, well I did wonder that, but it genuinely felt like there was something mechanically wrong! Ill pop to the local garage at lunch anyway and get them to give it the once over - like I say I know it needs a new rear shock but maybe there is something else aswell.

Surely a faulty switch wouldnt cause the ABS to actually stop working?

Thanks for the help, ill look into that, a nice cheap fix if thats what it is!

It does. I have the exact same lights come on and it stops the abs, stability control and the cruise control/speed limiter from working.

Im wondering if this could have caused the odd behaviour as the roads where very slippery...

You might just need to reset the brake pedal switch, there's a simple guide on how to do this. Fixed my problem earlier this year!

Yeah I forgot about that. Mine won't adjust it's had it. You might be lucky and be able to adjust yours.

Just been out for a 15 minute drive around the lanes, tried several emergency stops and sharp slaloms to try and unsettle the car/replicate this mornings symptons and....nothing. All seems ok.

Im going to assume the mix of icey roads, the ABS, TCS and stability being thrown out, along with a bumpy road gave me the impression something more serious was wrong.

Ill keep an eye on it, and get the car up on the jack at the weekend think, along with checking the above mentioned brake switch issue!

New shocks will be ordered asap aswell!
