Absolutely gutted - mac damage

Laptop has been damaged, it would appear to have been stood on or similar by mistake.

Lid will now not close on the latch and can't fit cd's in where it's bent.

No one had admitted to it yet.(housemates + gf[weekend stay])

I'm more upset about this than the massive dent in my Bmw!!

I don't have accidental damage, therefore don't think it would be covered.

Well gutted as I had just fitted a new HD and so on, the laptop still works, it's just that the lid won't close and can't use CD's.

Damn it.

Mine is like this through self abuse. I batter the s**t out of it. Also fell of the top of my bike when I was loading a map on it.

Its basically the metal case of the drive thats bent. Get something in the opening of the slot and lever it gently. Worked fine for me about 6 times so far

Yeh but still illustrates how expensive they are (in general).

i paid just over 1k for my macbook with 250gb hdd and 2gb ram. upgraded the ram myself for 50 quid.

Macbook pros are going for about 1.7k for a decent one!

Hmm fair enough I guess. Just going from experience of macs generally being hellishly expensive for not much more.

My desktop cost me £900 to build and thats got a black edition quadcore top gpu and 4gb of fast ram and I would be terrified to think how much an equal mac would cost!

Depends what you use it for tbh. For video editing and the like it's priceless.

While I'll be the first to pipe up and say that Macs are overpriced crap, I've seen pics like that before and they usually involve someone having gone for dual 40 inch studio monitors or some stupid s**t like that. So the Mac it's self probably only cost 7 or 8k :rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp::rasp:

unture pinko! i upgraded the ram to 32GB at the cost of £4978. + the PC + the HDD it still comes to like 14k
