Accelerator Cable go BOING

So im driving along last nite, and just after i pull of i feel a lil boing in my accelerator, then realise my engine doesnt stop reveing wen i took my foot of the pedal which was all floppy!!!,... i got her home but im nota happy chappy....all thats snapped is the bit which connects it to the actual pedal. its more of a fray in the cable but its lost its tension...i know its guna cost a lil bit to fix but what an pain!!!...any1 else had this problem?

Accelerator cables do snap. Pretty common on cars with a traditional cable setup. At least the new one should make the pedal a little bit more sensative.

just hada look through the service history...hasnt hada new one ever!!....hopefuly this isnt the start of things to come!

It's where the cable pulls through the hole it gets fraid so it doesn't come back through so it keeps the revs on. Not very much from Renault

Only a cable mate, its not something you maintain untill something go's wrong. Its now 13 years old and god knows how many miles, nothing to worry about what so ever.
