I'm not sure whether it got stuck under the carpet mat slightly or what, but there was a bit of clear air in front and I was in second so I obliged by flooring it. You know how there's a 'click' when you put it to the floor? It did that then went to change gear and it stuck. Didn't know what the heck was going on. In the end I just switched the engine off, but then discovered the pedal was still planted...
All I want to know really is whether boucing off the rev limiter for 30 secs will have done any damage (other than wasting fuel)? The engine was up to correct oil temp.
