Acoustic Valve

I have a question all, and please excuse my ignorance, now I've checked for previous threads but can't find one.
But
A. What is the acoustic valve
B. Where does it live
C. What does it do
D. Should I remove it
E. Does it make any difference removed?

Thanks in advance for your help everyone!

A. What is the acoustic valve = is a valve that opens under load at a certain RPM
B. Where does it live = at the side of the air box
C. What does it do = supposed to quieten the engine at low RPM
D. Should I remove it = IMO no
E. Does it make any difference removed? = IMO no, but the topic has been debated before on CS

So it doesn't do anything performance wise then, it's purely a noise thing!

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
it's there to reduce driveby noise. Part of legislation new cars have to pass. It's a small restriction to airflow so no down side to removing it, but dont expect a noticable gain
