Acoustic Valve

Are mk1 172's supposed to have this?

I was looking around on mine today and I dont think its there...

It looks like who ever had the car before me has cut away some of the plastic behind the little slit vents under the head light and moved both air feeds there.
I cant see this valve thing because Ive seen a pic of one off a 182.

Does anyone have one that they dont want? I had a plan for my air box and want to refit it but its probably millions of pounds from Renault....

mk1's dont have them and the intakes are below the headlight as std.

Its a pneumatic valve on the lower air feed which opens and closes at specific RPM to give the right level of torque through bottom, mid and top range.

the 182 does to make it sound less ghey LoL

Those feeds are so small my vaccume cleaner has a bigger pipe lol.

MK2 172's or phase 2 172's or MK2, phase 2 172's or whatever else people call them also have the acoustic valve.
I can't really see how torque could decrease when replaced by an uprated air feed.

Love it.
But the mk2 ph2 rs2 172 ph2 with a face lift don't have a purple Playmobil dash though which is why I have a mk2 ph2 rs2 172 ph2 with a face lift :rofl:

I removed mine when I fitted my ITG and there is a definite loss of low down torque.
