Admiral online insurance quotes-Bo**cks

Are admirals online quotes accurate because im getting some rather cheap quotes from them?

I fiqure if i buy online i might be able get away with getting insurance for what seems these cheap prices. If i ring up to check they might suss out that these prices are (probably) wrong

well that all depends on whether pr not u have made a mistake! if u havent then it will b chaep, but i would check first, cos a lot of insurance companies give u a discount if u take out a policy online, ie tesco give u an xtra5% off!

i know its obvious but double check the car details are correct too!! i got a ridiculous quote from Norwich Union (something like £340) for the 172. Their systems had the car down as a 1.2 not a 2.0, so I had to phone up and see what a real quote would be.

They still ended up being the cheapest for me.

i havent made a mistake filling in any of the details, but im getting decent quotes of £1k that other companies are quoting me £2-3k for.

Im worried that if i i ring up to check theyll sus it s too cheap

id check that they have the details from your reg correct (if u did it that way)

as my mate got a good quote on his s2000, but when he checked they quoted him an an accord !!

that was with confused.com

Admiral/Elephant (Same company) were great for me.. they were about the only ones whod insure me on a Williams..

When I rung up to take the insurance out, they just read from ya online quote.. and give it ya, heh.. so it is accurate (as long as you put the right details in!)

thats what i meant....its not you filling it in incorrectly its the system thats at fault and not recognising the correct details of the car.

^^ Heh.. Yea.. I know a few 172s have come up as 1.2s!

I always make out I dont know the reg.. then do a quote.. so I select the car - safer.

i think heritage are also part of them, as they all appear on the same page in the car magazines all the time.

I got a quote from admiral for my 106 GTi and they were half the cost of everybody else, since i wrote the car off and they paid me 9k have havent been quite so generous for some reason:oops:

Ive had similar problems with confused, and guess who owes confused! Admiral!

Admiral quoted the same on the phone as they did on the web.

They do seem very cheap.

£590 on the valver with me and the missus. we are both 21, shes only been driving 1 month. Ive got 2 yrs NCB.

Ive checked the policy, dfo a valver on that!

They seem ok so far. only been insured with them for 1 month though!

i knew that admiral and elephant were the same, so i tried both sites to see if they differed, they didnt,

i went on confused and they quoted me £50.00 more, god knows why,

i reckon it must have been their commission, as they r supposed to search out admiral, so really they should have been the same price.

Another vote for admiral. I think they (used to?) say they are aimed at younger drivers/faster cars. Ive always had best quote off them for a variety of cars.

The 10 month bonus accelerator is good if you want to build up NCB quickly, but be aware, what you pay is a bit more than 10/12ths of the 1 year price.

Also see other threads about how Admiral dont cover extras/mods/options but they charge extra if you have them fitted.

Always read the small print and my advice is, if you want clarifications get them in writing.

i got one online with admiral, policy arrived today, all seems fine. cheapest by far, I went for the 12month policy. £1720 fully comp.

Ive got a policy with admiral. Ive been with them for four years. I pay £470 f/comp with the missus to drive. Full ncb, protected etc. I went to elephant when my renewal was due, and they were cheaper than admiral. One phone call later, and admiral gave me a better quote. Strange but true.

Question time guys:confused:

Im due to take delivery of a 182 in around 8 weeks time and taking the advice here entered my details on Admirals site.

Heres my problem, if i was to take out a policy as the main driver-so i can earn some NCB ( as i havent any) does my G/F lose her 6 yrs NCB shes built up as she would become a named driver??

She seems to think so so she wants to have it the other way round, her as main, me named ( does work out cheaper but id of liked MY car in MY insurance if you know what i mean)

Hope all the above makes some sense!

im with elephant, £464 f/c on a standard valver, im 23 with 2yrs ncb ( i have mummy as a named driver)

i reckon its an excellent quote.

yep 18yr old on elephant paying 1400 fully comp on a cup. Yes its too good to be true im a named driver on my parents policy and they have 6yrs ncb. So i dont think ive been robbed as my corsa 1.4 which i had be4 was 2300 on my own insurance fully comp. Im just glad there too dumb to realise that its my car in my mums name and i drive it all the time. I think its extremely unfair though how much insurance is for younger drivers. I know it makes sense but i think if i havents crashed in the yr of insurance instead of giving me no claims bonus they should just give me 70% of my money back as ive caused them no more hassle than a 55 yr old who probably pays 130 fully comp. Its good in 1 way as, If i could be insured on anything it would probably have 4-500 hp for the same money i paid for the cup. Yes it would probably be old and f*cked though. Im much safer in the cup.

Im with them and their site f**ked up when i tried to alter the excess. Phoned then up and they found my details and i took the policy our there and then 1080 all in 1y n/c 1 claim this year. Top service, two of my other mates are with them, fiat coupe 20vt and polo sport.

Been with them for 4 years and had no probs ata ll they are brilliant I think. Bought a 2 year old BMW 328i sport when I was 22 (4.5 years ago) and got fully comp for 1300. No no-claims at the time, it was my first ever car. How I miss it but then again a house is kind of more important. Now I pay just over 500 living in city centre with car parked on street.

Regarding Elephant, they are in the same building but their small print is different. Went with them but when they found out I work abroad and leave the car at my mums they cancelled the policy. The reason is you as the policy holder cannot leave the car for more than 30 days. A named driver looking after it doesnt comply. Never mind, no probs with admiral and only 30 quid extra.

on the strength on this topic, I went over to admiral for a quote, for my 1.2 valued at £6500 they said £2886 for 12 months and £2459 for 10 months, guess they cant be cheap for us all

No she wont lose her no claims at all. She just wont be gaining anymore until she has her own policy. If you are going to be the main driver then you should be the insurer, also if she got 6 eyars she has enough really! and you should get building yours up, insurance aint gonna get any cheaper so the sooner you do it the better! As far as I know there is no expiry dates on no claims bonuses.

Cheers noel-pilot for that, ill have a chat with her again and show her this as shes still adament that she will lose her NCBs after a period of time.

Just a side note, as i think has been mentioned before putting a couple of named drivers on the policy providing they are quite old (me dad!) actually lowered the final price :)

Admiral by far the cheapest quote and beat most other companys by a good few hundred pounds in most cases so thumbs up from moi!:D

try http://www.confused.com/ face=Verdana color=#ffff00 Uwww.confused.com/U i know a few people have sl*ged them of, but i got the cheapest quote for admiral from them £510, on a 172 for the wife and myself with one claim to our name, with 6 ncb, then i went to admirals web site, same info was given and the quote was £720, work that one out............. so i phoned them, again gave them the same info, and the best they could come up with was £615............. "it works out cheaper if you go though someone online" is what i was told by the guy at admiral, when i went for confuseds quote. so now i am saving over £340 pound on my old insurance with NU....:D also i phone and filled in on websites over 30 quotes for insurance, admiral were the cheepest by over £80.........!!!
