Advice needed for getting my Clio 182 Chipped/remaped

Hiay peeps

Want to get my 182 chipped/remaped but am unsure as to what is the best place to go and what it actualy involves, so any advice would be appreciated. Iv already got a Viper Induction kit, high flow cat and full stainless and ecotec valve, so what sort of power gains can I expect to get?

Thanks guys, still a bit confuesd though, whats the diffrence between an off the shelf chip and a remap and what is better? In your opinions, is it worth getting done then?

By the way, how come remove the Ecotec, are they no good then?

Ecotek valves are lame mate. They do nothing other than make a god awful noise.
I've had my 172 remapped by pmurray on here and the results were impressive. I only gained around 5 bhp but it was the low down torque which was much improved. There was a gain of about 14lb/ft of torue at around 2500 rpm.
I'll try and find the thread.

sorry for the quick hijack but iv been thinking about this as well and dont wana start another thread. the BBPerfoamance ecus are direct replacments yes? so does that mean it is alreay loaded so it is basicly a drive in, unplug, plug in and drive out type of fitting?

Hi, yes i will be able to do it at FCS, basically the original software is downloaded to the laptop, modified and re-loaded to the ECU.

Changes can be made to incorporate mods but tbh unless you have had cams etc. there is not much to change as the ECU will adapt to mods such as a filter etc..

would Renault be likely to spot it?

would the map affect or invalidate my warranty?

would it be better remapping after an uprated exhaust was fitted, or make no difference in the end?

best bet would be to get a spare/second ecu and get that reflashed incase the car has to go in for warranty work IMO.(that's what i've done anyway).
