advice needed.

hi everyone

Im thinking of getting my inlet manifold done by angelworks,and getting a remap at rs tuning, are there any other mods that would benefit me,without going into head work.
(Performance air filters are they any good or is it just mind over matter ?....).

inlets, good filter and decat........... then get it remapped

You'll get some reasonable gains per £££ with that lot

excuse my ignorance but would a decat effect my standard exhuast, and with a de cat would it make it noiser(i am 34) cant cope with the noise. or would i have to get a complete new performance exhaust with a decat(can you recommend any quiet performance zorsts),bit confused:S on the whole thing.

I had a Cup and i ran my decat with my standard exhaust, (dont do loud exhaust either ) nice and standard sounding. You will need to keep the cat for MOT time too! The decat seems to give good gains on these engines. I had a Maxogen air filter, my inlets done with a remap and it makes a difference. I gives you a nice edge over say a standard 182 you may encounter Any other mods and your looking at cams etc which = ££ *

Any ideas where i can get a decat from and one of those maxogen filters from.With all the mods done what was your bhp at the end ?.And does it improve motorway driving eg fuel economy .

A decat on a 182 can be purchased from yozza sport or K-tec etc Look for Itg Maxogen on the k-tec site too (pricey mind, be sitting down!) You could just get a replacement panel filter, depends on budget really. Not sure on BHP, i'd say a good 10HP or there abouts? Alot of it for me is on the road.... thats where it counts
