Advice needed

Not sure if this is the right place to post this as this is my first post.

Basically looking to buy a Clio III 1.6 dynamique s, more specifically, this Clio

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...cleYearOfManufacture=2006&vehicleRegLetter=55

Just wanted some advice on what they're like, any problems I should know about?

Naturally I would prefer a 197 but I'm 19 and my insurance is still just too high so going for a 1.6 as the 0-60 time of 10 seconds and the spec level of the dynamique seems about right for me.

All replies greatly appreciated.

Looks spot on that mate. Good spec too.

However you say you want a 197: Would you not consider a 172/182 and using the money saved on buying it of the extra insurance.

Yeah good point, I had consider a 172/182 and even a williams at one point but i'm just looking for a step up in refinement and space along with fairly decent performance.

I will take your point on board though and if I see any tidy examples of a 172/182 then I may just opt for one of those instead as the looks are just a bit better on those.

What do you drive now? I suggest you drive 1*2 and also the dynamique s. I drove the 1.2 TCE dynamique s and didn't think it was much better than my MK2 tbh. The dash and controls etc where nicer and more modern, the steering wheel is smaller which is good.

At 100bhp it didn't feel much quicker than my 1.2 16V MK2 though, they're quite heavy.

Have you had a look at the 2.0 dynamique s 138?

Just had the same spec Clio has a hire car for a week and are nice mate. Not that fast but nice drive.
Was so Happy to get back in mine. :D

Yeah you guys seem right, new clio does seem nice but a bit average and not that exciting unless the 197. Read some reviews and it seems the mk2 is more preferred for driving enjoyment which is what i'm looking for really first and foremost.

I think i'll have a test drive of the new one to see what its like and also look at either a 1.2 16v or 1.4 16v mk2.

What about a MK2 dci. The dci engine outweighs the benifits of the small petrol engines easily.
