advice on crease in subframe,bent rear beam

hi,

basically spun my car about month ago sideways quite hard into curb,passenger side airbag deployed and ruined o/s/r alloy which i replaced for spare, i still drive it but left hand side feels all over the place when goin over bumps and sterring has gone really light,

nationwide have told me i have creased front subframe and bent rear beam with a front wishbone gone too,

its 172 with 76k

shall i go through insurance? really gutted but im guessing its write off,no bodywork damage watsoever

There are a few specialists on here that break clios for spares. Get in touch with them, see if they've got some straight parts for you. I wouldn't go through insurance! Are your insurers aware of the accident?

no i havent been through insurance as of yet, the first garage i went too told me it was just a rear stub axle i needed so ive been waiting to source one of them now it sounds more seriuos! but yeah i have been looking on ebay and cliospares.co.uk etc

Find the parts you need from Cliospares or similar and see if Fred at BTM (near NEC) can fit them for you.

Surely with bending the subframe it's not worth you trying to fix yourself?

Claim on insurance, although they might wonder why it's taken you so long to tell them and let them write it off.

isn't it a condition precedent that you have to notify them within 48 hours?
