aerial base removal

i never use the fm on my car...nothing but RnB/dance crap gets played round here, but I have a pure DAB system which lives in the glovebox.

Its got an external aerial which I just stick through the front door seal when im using it (starsky and hutch flashy light style).

Can I remove the factory FM aerial/base and stick my magnetic DAB aerial in its place?

How do I get it off if I can?

its an 05 PH2 by the way...aerials at the back of the roof near the boot hatch.

The reason for removal is if theres only one aerial on the roof...passing pikeys wont think there might be something special in the car, but im getting sick of having to faff on with the aerial everytime I want to use it.

cant you try and take the wire from the existing areal and attach it to the DAB with a bit of fiddling?

i think the connection is different at the other end.

the pure highway aerial has a connection similar to that of a pair of headphones...only smaller than standard.

what i mean is chop the plug off the end and wire it to a car stereo areal plug, obv you need to look around to see if this would work before going crazy
