After market options for Cup

Im lazy so i wont go to my local dealers and ask, theyre arrogant bastads too.

So does anyone here know about the options availability for the Cup yet and what they consist of too all i know about is the sports seats - not sure if you can buy them yet though?

KDF

  Audi TT Stronic

Very limited.

ECU and 1 other thing which doesnt come instantly to mind.

Yeah? Whats the ECU like any good or just an over priced cant notice the difference piece of ****? You got an estimate of the price?

  Renault Laguna Coupe

Bear in mind that your dealer wont know a thing about any of this stuff - you have to source it yourelf or go to a specialist supplier. Hill Power will fit the ECU for you, and its very good apparently.

Ill probably go for a Unichip to be honest, but i want to get all other engine mods done first for obvious reasons.

Do you know where i can source these bits from at all, addresses would be appreciated please.

Eddd, what does group N involve, is that just minor stuff or as mad as like?

And firstly i want the sports seats, beacause the passenger side rattles and squeaks all the time and a bottle of lucozade exploded and stained the drivers side badly - any ideas where these are available?

You can choose any of the aftermarket seats. People on here have done Corbeau, Konig and Cobra I think.

I was thinking more of the 172 Mk 1 sport seats with "Renault Sport" on them you know?

Although if Cobra can can sow the Renault Sport logo in they may be worth a a look.

Nope, its a bargain at only £200 +VAT so cheaper than getting it Superchipped.

They work too!

Ah but, superchips are easily reversible as theyre just a remap. And at £293 inc VAT and fitting, theyre about the same price....

....and superchips work, too - boosted my peak torque to 154lb ft when RRd in 91degrees F back in July

...neither will the superchip, so I think its been widely accepted that a unichip is the best bet if you intend to make further mods.

You people have got it all wrong!

How many 1.2s 1.4s etc do you see fitting exhausts and filters etc?

Do they say, "Oh no, I cant fit that Magnex because my ECU wont take advantage of it!" NO THEY DONT!

You only need to go the custom remap route when you start playing with different cam profiles or aftermarket throttle boddies.

Until this point, the standard ECU if fine, and an aftermarket one is even better.

Frosty - Exhaust aint normally the issue mate, its things like the Viper/BMC CDA which can cause the normal ecu to lean the mixture in some spots.... now that aint good, and the rsport ecu might or might not cope with this depending on what mapping theyve done in it.

But custom remaps cant cope with things like throttle bodies, hehe if only, but it just isnt pos - new programmable ecu is the only way for major modifications like this.

Nick Hill (Hill Power) has done tests with a Viper and an R-Sport ECU and there is no problem with the fuelling apparently...

With the Viper & standard ECU the fuelling was marginally under but not enough to cause any problems/concern. Then he fitted an R-Sport (Group N) ECU and ran the car again to see what affect this had. Now the cars fuelling was slightly rich, but again not enough to cause any problems and there is cetainly no issue with the car running lean with this setup.
