Aftermarket alarm import 172

  2014 Clio 200t edc
Hi all
On an imported 172 that has a hideously annoying alarm fitted, meaning the key fob button doesn't do anything and it's all down with the additional fob. Is there a way to remove this and replace the uch with a uk one (keys and locks etc) meaning that the fob would work the locks and immobiliser?
Thanks in advance

Yes. Get rid of the add in alarm. Buy a new kit.

How do you know the original kit doesn't work though. It may be double immobilised.

The Renault fob does nothing, the light shows when you press the button but the car 'ignores' it. So do you think that if I removed entirely the aftermarket alarm the original keys and immobiliser would start to work?
I understand that with a new key set I wouldn't have an alarm but I would have an immobiliser so not too worried.
Is it easy to do? From searching I can use my original blade from my keys which will mean I only have to remove my uch and the aftermarket alarm, and replace just the uch?

Does it work to unlock the car? I would check if any of the original wiring has been damaged before starting to take the original alarm out.

With a ecu kit you change the ecu, uch, key fob and decoder ring. Keeping all the same locks. Doesn't take long to change if the ECU cover plays ball.

This is going to be a project for when I have some time and other faults have been sorted. However the serpi alarm has started to do strange things. So it needs to go. Can't figure out why my fob flashes but doesn't do anything to the car though. Is there a fuse that could've been removed for the original key fob?

Typical. Mine must have been messed with when they fitted the alarm. 😧 Key still starts the car etc but nothing else.
I'll have to eventually change the uch I guess. If only my key fob did something and there was a fuse for the alarm I could remove.
Nothing is ever simple with my cars!!
