Aftermarket radio stalk adapter

Car  Clio 182 BG
Hi everyone. I am sure there are 100,000 similar posts but I thought for my own piece of mind it was probably best to just post my own.

I am going to buy a Sony DSX-A60BT for my Clio 182 but just wanted to double check what adapter I need to get the stalk to work with it (and if there is any other iso adapter or anything required). If anyone can point me in the direction of a kit or adapter that would work that would be great.

Cheers

Depends if you have a tuner or update list headunit. I suggest eBay just mail one of the sellers and tell them what headunit you have they will send you the right one.If you haven't got the original headunit send them a picture of the plugs. The yellow mini ISO connected will either have 4 or 5 pins or its 5 or 6 can't remember, if you get the wrong one it won't work

I too would be interested in knowing this.

I notice there are around 3 available to use with my HU (an Alpine CDE-178BT):

1) Autoleads Harness Kit
2) Connects 2 Kit - Does this not require the dash to come apart unlike the Autoleads kit?
3) Rare Alpine kit - This gives you a working display but it is not longer sold new and it was expensive when it was!

Do the Autoleads kit and Connects 2 kit give you back any form of stock working display like the factory unit?

The autoleads loom requires top of dash off - iirc it plugs in under the clock. Connects2 is plug and play behind stereo - just need to tuck wires in,

For best prices/advice PM Matt (MTAudio)

I take it neither gives you the display? If that is the case I may just go with the Connects 2 assuming one is not better than the other for the function of the steering controls themselves.

Nope the only one that will give display is the alpine specific adapter, conntects/autolead will just say 'renault' and the temp, connects was perfect when i had it and also never had any problems with any customers cars, some die hards will say to go with the autoleads one tho - can't remember the reasoning though

Sony headunits can control display aswell the adapter plugs into the CD changer control on headunit

Guys if the original head unit is already out, is there any way of working out if the car had tuner or update list originally?
