aftermarket rev guage fitting

Car  clio 1.2 rn 1997
hi guys, got a 1.2 rn 1997 with the d7f engine. ime trying to fit a rev gauge and was wondering where to take the (rev puse) from:S , as it doesnt have a rev count as standard, and i dont think the wiring is there for one. any help would be appretiated as ime planning to fit nitrous:cool: , and i need a rev count to set it up. cheers

The wiring is there iirc, you can swap the dials with those from a higher model with a tacho and it should work. They need to be from another Ph3 though or they won't work. Ph1/Ph2 dials are a no go.

ive allready bought an aftermarket 52mm gauge, but just need to know where to take the rev pulse from.

didn't know i'd written that in invisible ink?

I have fitted to my clio, there is a plug that would go into the dial ( if there was one ) and it goes into one of the connections in that.

You have to pull the dash and clocks out, can be a pain in the arse!

sorry mate wasn't ignoring u, i was just being stupid, and didnt read it right:S anyway got it sorted now, so cheers for your help.

got the pulse from one of the wires in the plug that goes into the back of the fuel gauge (pink wire with black trace) then got the live, earth, and switched live (for the light on the gauge) from the unused green 16pin plug that is used for the higer spec cars.
black-earth
yellow-switched ign live
blu-swiched live for dashlights

sorted:D

When they changed to the DIET engine in the Ph3 the wiring for the rev counter changed as the DIET uses a DIS. You can convert them to work but its not really worth it.

How do you convert them?;)
