Aftermarket Warranties

Hi,

I have just bought a 172 mk2 and someone suggested buying an aftermarket warranty from someone like RAC. I have never really looked into these so I was wondering if anyone else has one and what are they like for paying out etc?

I woulnd't bother there not worth the paper there written on often.

Renaults own one is the only one I'd bother with your cars got to be under 3 years old to buy it.

I'm thinking of going for one too, they seem to cover most parts for cars under three yrs and 30k... mine is now at 34 k and nearly 3 yrs old... 182

for a few hundred ££ it seems worthwhile - wouldn't anyone agree??

I looked into extending my warranty from renault, will be 3 years old in june. They said it would cost about £800 for an extra 2 years which to me is alot!!!

When I had my old valver a got 1 years warranty with that cant remember who it was by but I did get to use it a fair bit and had no problems with the parts I needed.
Only downside was I was reccomended to use a couple of garages by them which were both rubbish so i took somewhere I was happy with.
When claiming for warrnty then they would only cover some of the costs instead of the whole cost whereas before with there reccomended garages the payed the whole cost..

Maybe phone around and ask some question first see if it sounds worthwhile.

Its a good warently hence the cost.

Depends how long you want to extend it for though and milage you can extend till 110k and 5 years I think
