Age old question



  Clio 182 Turbo, AUDI
Guys has any one used a diesel gearbox for a 182 turbo or has built a stronger box without spending house money that can take more torque also thinking of dropping final drive ratio for 120 mph top speed any help appreciated.

Not sure about internal strength @NorthloopCup would know best about that

What I do know is that the ratios are way longer and the upper spider gearbox is much thicker too. I upgraded my 172 to one because the spiders are common to snap tbh

So top speed and driveability should improve my revs out in top and fairly quickly too speed 182

Yeah the gearing suits boosted cars a lot better because you don't blow through the gears as quick

My mate had his high boost with an old dTi Kangoo box and a quiafe, managed to get it off the clocks iirc

Ok that is interesting what do i need to fit this gearbox to my car clio dci box that is maybe taller gearing would help its a sod to drive

You just need the gearbox and that's it mate

But if you like spending money get a Quaife or a Gripper diff in there
I like spending it cant seem to earn it at the mo lol will my pure motorsport fit with the diesel box what will change the most ive learnt more in ten minutes on here than 12 months of searching should have joined a long while ago. Mine is 250 bhp with an adaptronic ecu that no one seems to be able to map

If you can't find an answer on here for any life question then the answer usually isn't worth knowing is what I've found 😂

Everything is the same with the gearbox apart from the gears inside mate

I did a lot of research on ratios for the hillclimber and what Mark says above is 100%
you can do it on the cheap with the shorter fifth gear set but ultimately the gripper final drive is the way to go for the required results,

Chris at EFI Parts can map Adaptronic.

A long way for me buddy but he is good need to check for sure looked the other day and said siemens on ecu but i was told the adaptronic ecu would be inside this siemens casing ?

Possibly, although not sure why the Adaptronic wouldn't be in its own casing 🤔

Is this something you've just bought?

Had it about a year single seat rear cage race battery in passenger foot well pure motorsport shifter team dynamics k Tec exhaust k Tec coil overs loads more proper little thing wrapped in Michelin sport pilot race colours. I get some pics up maybe soon
