Air bag light after fitting sabelt wheel . . .

  172 cup
As above got airbag and serv light on after changing my steering wheel. Used 1.8 ohm resistors in both the airbag plugs, and they are in ther snug so no connection problem. Any idea why the lights are still on?

i had this when i changed the seats over a while back, had it put on a scanner and cleared the code, it stayed off. maybe the cars just stored the fault did you disconnect the battery?

3.9 ohm resistors you want mate, 2 of them. Make sure they are in there tight aswel cause they can work loose.

Worked on mine when I fitted my Sabelt wheel.

Take it i need to be able to access airbag module with diagnostics to reset it.

Cbetts did you try any other resistors first at all and get the same problem as me

Nope worked first time with them resistors,

You shouldn't need to reset anything just take the old resistors out put the new 3.9ohm in, tape it up and the lights will go off.

Had a feeling this wouldnt work as i already had resistors in there. Just tried with 3.9ohm and lights still on

Anyone got any ideas?

you will need to to switch the light off and keep the 3.9ohm resistors in i reckon

as now the light has come on, it will need resetting

Make sure resistors are all the way in, did u double fold the wire part of the resistor when you put it in?
I actually trippled the wire then pushed it in the hole

tried doubled, tried singled tried all sorts, all seem to look as if there should be a good connection yet light still there.

Austin you are wrong as i've tried this many a time

Same happened with mine, light did come on. Then i pushed the resistors back in and taped them up and the lights went off! havent come on since and that was 4 months ago?

Does not store the fault on the ecu, unlike the pretensioner.

Put some tape around it all aswell, I had the same issue when I changed my seats, took me a while to get it so the light went off. When it did, I taped it all up so it was nice and snug. I also trimmed the length of the resistors so they fit in properly.

Where is the plug? i have an after market steering wheel and it had a fuse attached to the plug inside the steering wheel boss. The fuse came out and caused the light to come on but after reattaching the fuse the light won't go out. So i'm wondering where this plug is, in which your placing your resistors.
