Air con not clicking on

Help...

Aircon was working fine Friday, I'm now in central Europe roasting to death. When I turn the air-con on it doesn't do the usual clonk and the fan isn't coming on etc.

Is there a fuse that could of blown? What could be the issue?

Could have lost pressure, so the system won't power up.

Not sure on the fuse though, but i'd say it's highly unlikely.

same happened to me, it needs a re gassing

It might, however if it is indeed because it needs regassing you need to investigate the cause for the rapid loss in the first place. It won't leak out in 3 days unless something happens.

It could of course be something else, but the usual cause of a non-working A/C is lack of refridgerant.

had that recently wioth the wife's Alfa.....might have had something to do with not checking the A/C system since buying the car....:tongueclosed:

not a total loss of performance , it just couldn't cope with 35deg + anymore.....

*Normally* when the refrigerant escapes it is for a reason (e.g.. a leak). A healthy system won't just lose pressure otherwise so it kind of winds me up when places just recharge and send you on your way. Chances are the seals are shot and need replacing OR you have a poor joint somewhere allowing the R134a to escape.

Did they inject a UV dye? If so, there may be a chance you can identify the source of the leak. If not, they've had you over and you'll need to spend a little more £££
