Air filter - Panel or?

  Clio 182 FF 2005
Does any1 know what would give the best performance on a 1.2 8v? a normal k&n air filter or panel filter air cooled etc? or if any1's knows better please post, and yes i know its only a 1.2 and im much better off getting a 182 etc but im 17 and just wanting to get the edge over my mates in there lil 1.2's lol, would be appreciated if any1 has any other advice on squeezing a bit more out of a 1.2 8v

currect mods are: peco backbox, decat pipe, unnamed air filter k&n style(by the looks of it the old air feed pipes have been redirected to face the new air filter, which is at the side of the engine),

And also about weight what things can u take off? i dont wanna risk taking spare wheel out but is it worth it? i know this a bit of a waste of time on a 1.2 but it gives me something to do :)

Thanks!

strip out everything you dont need, sound proofing etc. depends how much your are willing to loose, could take out all the carpets door cards etc. Basically anything that isnt needed to run the car you can take out!

As for filter, i'd say get an ITG panel filter and a decent cold air feed to the standard box.

I'd also get a performance centre section made up, something around 2" bore. I think you can possibly fit a larger throttle body off the 1.8 8v... not 100% on that tho. Obviously there is laods more that you can do, but all of that with a custom remap should see you a nice gain. Biggest gains will be from stripping out as much weight as you can.

if you dont have the std airbox you have a few choices..
1 - go to a scrappy/spares place & get an OEM airbox for the itg filter to go inside
2 - f.k it, buy an induction kit - speak to heavyweight about cold air feeds!!!lol!!
