Air Filters -- What do you think

  clio mk1
Hi all,

Ive only recently finally got my valver and Im slowly getting it back tyo its former glory and Im trying to make it look standard....

Ive been told by a friend to get an aftermarket air filter onit but I was always under the impression they are only there for show....

I was looking at one of those max power ones but they just like tack! Does anyone know what is a good air filter to get for my valver, also if they are a good idea to replace the standard one? I heard they will make it more responsive but Im unsure.... Ive just come into a bit of money though so Id like to buy one if there worth it, any ideas on which to get and if there even worth buying? cheers all

hey dude,

do you want an induction kit or just replacement filters??

dont know exactly what companies make the kits or filters for your car as i have a mk2 facelift but basicly, induction kits make the car sound alot better (sportier) give a good beefy note to the engine... it lets more air into the engine thus increasing the fuel to air mix creating more power! and i assume the replacement filters will do the same thing as they wont be as restrictive as the factory fitted filters. if your looking for a sporty sounding car id have the induction kit as the factory airbox thing will significantly reduce the roar of the engine so it wont be as loud and sporty! but then again i have no experience of this as i have an induction kit and not a filter so i do not know exactly, i am just goin on what i know/think....
