Hi guys,

Just got my MK1 172 on Monday and thinking about doing some insurance friendly mods, Was having a look last night at the air box and would like to retain this as it seems alight, was thinking I might look at attaching some heat shielding but was wondeirng if it is possible to get a K&N or similar that fits in the std air box?

Also is there a replacement samco hose from manifold to the std air box?

the pipe from the inlet to the airbox , will be a hill power bend 40-50 quid ish

as for replacement pannel filters go ITG will prolly be yer best bet

as above, itg panel filter for around 35 quid and a hillpower bend for 50 quid!
if you dont want to pay 50 for a hillpower then you can get bends without the breather pipe for around 20 quid!

Thanks for the info. will look into the hillpower option

Mine doesn’t actually have a panel filter its got a cylinderical 1 in which is almost 10” long and about 4.5” in diameter

looking on the website BH-203 is the part number for a mark 1 car, has anybody used one of these, I assume this is a round one rather than a panel?
