Airbag out but think i have broken the clip

Hay guy's i got the airbag of to day but i think i have broken the clip that's on the back of the bag. Its a orange clip it can out ok but left 1 side of a clip in the airbag and the othere one was brocken:S so have i broken it . If i have how would i get the cable and clip out to fit a new one ?.

I dont know if you can buy the clips separately.
Try a scrapyard?

Yer that's what im going to do but how do you remove it from the back of the steering wheel as i say its like a cable that come's from out the steering wheel to the airbag

So is the clip actually still in the airbag or is it attached to the wire?

Its attached to the wire still just the metal cip's the have broken of 1 in side the old airbag and 1 is broken but still on the clip

So i could just replace the steering wheel with a complete unit ?
IE go scrap yard and buy a Steering wheel with the airbag in place ?

Just been out side to take a quick pic not the best becouse my flash is fcuked

If not then i just get a Boss kit and after market steering wheel

No its not actually part of the steering wheel.

That clip and the wire attached to it are part of a capsule that sits behind the wheel and allows the electrical connection to the airbag even when the wheel is turned.

Because the airbag is a safety critical component, they cant use a slip ring arrangement like they do for horns.

The capsule has a coil of wire inside thus its name "clock-spring"

From the picture you have shown the connector as being slightly damaged but its not clear if it will go back into the socket or not, have you tried ?

For safety, you should disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wait 20 mins before re-connecting it or you could be sucking on a zeppelin.

No i have not tried m8 becous i donthave a secend airbag yet.
Do you think going with a boss kit and steering wheel may be my best bet then ?
