aircon pump

My aircon hasnt worked in the 8 weeks i have owned the car, there is also something making a noise in that area so i want to remove aircon pump to eliminate it. Obviously the drive belt will then be too long, is it as simple as getting a different one from another model.......or not? thank you.

Have you seen the Pure motorsport setup, Its the newest and best looking setup i've seen but its not cheap.

I did my Laguna bracket, Clio Cup Alt for £200 all in but that was using a new alt as i wanted the confidence factor, You can fit all the parts from an 8V laguna which you can pick up from most scrappies for peanuts only extra mod you need is a wire to the dash from the alt and reshape the PS pipes.

I have seen that and very nice but i am extremely poor, seems i just need an idler wheel to replace the aircon pump and a slightly shorter belt, if i had access to a lathe/milling machine reckon i could knock something up, but as i dont suppose i better start saving.

Fix your own aircon, parts are cheap as chips second hand, I got a new condenser for mine second hand, for £30, fitted it on my drive and it works a treat.

Thats possible but always ran older cars, never had aircon and i dont need it, pipes everywhere and excess weight, cheers.

Take your wheel to a machine shop, get them to make you a wheel with belt groves, measure the length with old belt and buy one from car part shop. Job done little tricky but cheap and works.

Is the clutch on the pump seized? Generally they don't make much noise when gone. Sure the water pump isn't squeaking? I just removed condenser and pipes on mine to lose some weight but left compressor in place disconnected so ac doesn't try to engage / disengage clutch..

Removed everything up to the bulkhead except the pump, dont think its the pump making the noise so i will leave it in place for now and come back to it.

TBH, there are so many people removing the air con these days because of weight / poor weather / they're sheep / they want an extra 2bhp, second hand air con components for Clio's should be ten a penny.

Maybe this is what you are talking about. I just saw this on a car magazine and scanned it for you guys. this is really aint cheap. but you are right about that so far this is the best setup on the planet.

i forgot to say if you guys know some setup that performs like puremotor sport but a bit affordable that will be good. just canvasing for parts and doing some research.
i just got a/c condenser for £35. that is right just go for second hand parts if you wanna save lots of money.
