Alarm From Engine

I have a 172 Sport Phase 2, i have noticed that when i have the ignition turned on (Not engine) just to the stage of battery/check lights etc show up on the dash there is an alarm sound coming from the engine. I thought at first it was the alarm but its not. When i pop the bonnet its coming from the engine.. Any ideas as to what this is please? It seems to go away when i turn the engine on. Its a constant alarm and not intermittent...

Help would be most appreciated cause i need to know whether this is a take it back to Renault job!?

Is it particularly loud coz it could just be an electrical relay attempting to kick ni - or it could just be your fuel pump!

It is particularly loud.... can hear it from inside the car and even more so when u lift the bonnet

cant think what that is other than a noise from the alarm siren that is inside the scuttle panel.
