Alarm help please

I was wondering if some one can help me, i found someone to look at my stereo today and it appears my alarm is wired (2 wires 1 red 1 balck) from the red flashing light to my stereo then from there its has a connector then from there were guessing it goes to under the bonnet to the alarm, is this the normal way in which the alarms are fitted. Oh yeah just in case its on a 172 cup and as far as im awear it the standard alarm.
If you need any more info please ask and il be happy to supply to my best knowledge
Thanks

ok so it suppose to be like that, cos the guy who looked at the stereo said he'd never seen one like thst before in particular the black wire had been taped to the thich black wire that goes into the black connector square

Lol, nooo, never said it is mean to be like this :-D

But i could only assume its a power feed, being a black and red cable. Neg and pos is all i can assume,

Sure its not an aftermarket alarm? Or just a little flashy light to make it look like an alarm? I'm guessing you have herd the alarm and have sensors?

No, im sure it an original cos there is no other fob, plus it goes off when it wants to ( got mind of its own) plus its got sensors.

Silly question is it suppose to have a power feed to the stereo thats if you know

It shouldn't be wired to the stereo as far as I know, but cannot think of a reason it would be unless the alarm had been disconnected (due to it being faulty) and a permanent feed then taken to the LED so it flashed constantly.

I would be tempted to take these cables out of the stereo loom and see what happens.

What triggers the alarm when it goes off for no reason?
