alarm keeps going off as soon as i connect the battery !!!

So last night I went to use the car and the key fob was a bit slow I tried it a few times and it eventually opened the doors (so i thought to myself battery in fob is on its way out. remember to get one tomorrow!!)

anyway go to start the car and the alarm goes off....aggggggghh ffs... try clicking the fob again but nothing. it just wouldn't turn off, so i started the car and it turned the alarm off but as soon as i drove the car the alarm went back off again .....aggggh fooook this,took the cut off switch out and left it untill today.

so went and got a new bat for the fob but its still the same theres no way of my turning the alarm off.

i dont no why its doing it its baffled me im out of ideas of what to do????

any ideas people, im going mad!!!

You sure it's not the car battery going flat? My Dad's MGF's alarm goes off all the time when the battery starts going flat (it sits for weeks on end not being used so drains) worth a check I'd say

I will get it checked just to eliminate that but i can't see it being flat tbh it gets used every day and does pretty long jernays (atleast enough to replace what starting it up takes out of it)

Fob battery in the right way up !?!

Petrol + match .. Should solve most of your problems.

Try your spare key, as TEG suggests, if not, I'd want to try someone elses battery (yes you can try mine).

Any battery under the sun will do as you're not going to drive anywhere .. doesn't need to be a Clio specific one. Just one that isn't fooked.

No I don't have a spare key which is a pain the battery is defentely it the right way a the little red light comes on.

All I can think is the actuall car battery is on it's way out, I will stick another in tomorow see if I get any luck (mums 075 should be ok to test it )

Just disconnecting the car battery and reconnecting it after a minute or so may reset everything.

Iv got a proper cut off switch installed and iv disconnected that a few times infect it's disconnected all the time atm, as every time I connect it the b*****d alarm goes off.

Did a new battery sort this?
