Alarm Suggestions please

Right then, i pick up my new car on tuesday.

Its a BMW 323 convertible. Anyway, i want to get an alarm system which will shut the car upon activation, the roof included. Id also like it to start the car from the remote.

So what systems are there out there (preferably, insurance approved) and what do they cost?

IIRC remote start makes the rating of the alarm (CAT 1 etc) void.

if you need all those features then your probably gonna end up with a Clifford, get it fitted somewhere proper though as ive heard a lot of stories about them going off all the time if fitted poorly

i used to have a Cobra and it was a very reliable alarm

I didnt know that. I shall look in to that further, as thats not as important as it being CAT 1 approved.
