So Ive had my 172 for 3 weeks now and today the alarm went off.
I went to unlock the car with the button on the key and as I did the alarm sounded. No amount of frantic button pressing would stop the alarm...
The cental locking was working fine, and the engine started, so the immobiliser was not on, but the alarm was still going off. The only way to stop it was to lock the car and leave it alone, if it was unlocked the alarm sounded continuously (which I thought was an offence anyway - isnt it supposed to reset after 30 seconds?).
As I was on the phone to the RAC to come and recover me it stopped and hasnt gone off since.
Any ideas?? Its the standard Renault alarm if you hadnt guessed!
