Hi, had a search about but couldnt find the answer, after stripping the rear of my car last weekend I starting pullng up the carpet as it seems really quite thick so guessing all of it together would weigh a fair bit, but does anyone know how much all together?

The carpet itself is not that heavy, the matting under it is a bit though.

Ok "forum user" :) Yeah this is the stuff that isnt stuck to the floor pan though isnt it, just comes off with the carpet ye?

Lol, full membership will resume shortly:). Yeh all comes out together, think its just for padding and sound proofing really. Going fully stripped are you?

Probably, need some 15's and buckets to pull it off properly though. Ill strip the carpets out when I fit the front seats but that wont be for a couple of months. Espace v6 filter next new from Renault, cant go wrong for like £65 quid, see if I can get over 170bhp at the next RR day in Oct, made 5bhp more at the same RR the other weekend which I was happy with ;)

  My trusty lil 182 :)
The carpet is actually suprisingly heavy must be 10kg+. THe foam behind doesn't really weigh much in comparison , couple of kgs at most. It all came out when i fitted my buckets together with the tar, every little helps :)

10kg is a decent saving still but I thought all together it would be more tbh, the part I looked at felt quite heavy for what it was. Along with this, the rear seats and all trim, belts etc and lighter buckets and 15's it should go well when im done ;) Not looking forward to doing the tar though! Any tips?

Take out the door cards and electric windows too should save a bit - plus aircon to go.

MarkCup removed his carpet etc and he would be able to tell you what it weighed (I think he weighed everything that he removed).

The carpets in the back dont weigh much, but I was gobsmacked at how heavy the carpets under the front seats weigh! They weigh a ton!!!
