Two weeks ago I had a new driveshaft and cv boot fitted. As I came to clean my wheels the wheel where the drive shaft had been replaced was COVERED of oil or something. Really thick and the inner sided of the rim was even worse. It was as if it had exploded or something. Is this normal when replacing a driveshaft/cv boot or has something come loose.

I've managed to clean the alloy (took 45 minutes just for that alloy!!!) but the inside is still bad as i didnt remove the whole wheel.

It's the oil from the CV joint. It's normal.

I ruined a sponge and a brush cleaning it lol.

its awful stuff. when i used to be a mechanic i hated changing cv boots!!!!!!! that grease is impossible to get off!!!!

Shouldnt it be inside the boot and not his wheel though:S

I always thought cv grease is green slime stuff,well it is in mine
