Almost lost a mirror

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

Got my Williams back from the body shop today after a couple of days with no car. I decided to go have a blast and on the way back about 100yds from my house Im driving along on the left (obviously) and there are 5-6 cars parked up on the right hand side. Dont really pay much attention as there always there but out of the corner of my eye I see a red 306 coming in the opposite direction then bang he slams straight into my wing mirror.

Look in rear view and the 306 just carries on! I do a quick U turn in a turn off and go straight after him, but get stuck behind a bloody sierra at a junction. Once out of the junction I see the 306 in the distance so I blast round the sierra (he gives me full beam, tw*t) and hammer it after him. There is a bend in the road and a turn off down some country lanes. I cant see him so I take a glance down the down the turn off and there he is, have to do an quick 3 point turn and go after him again. At the next turn off I guess hes gone left and go flat out for half a mile am just thinking Ive gone the wrong way when I catch up with him. He pulls over as soon as he sees me and we both jump out. A lad about 18 , Im like thanks for stopping and he starts apologising saying he didnt stop because I didnt.

Any way I take a look at the wing mirror and its fits back together its just the glass thats broken. So I say Ill settle for a tenner to sort it out and I follow him round the corner so he can get money from the bank. Thought I was quite restrained in the circumstances, although I drove like a knob just to get 10 pounds off him. Suppose the guy thought about it for a second and decided to carry on didnt reckon on the Williams hunting him down. w**ker!

Had the same thing happen to me in my old car, was parked at the side of the road waiting for a friend when this car comes round the corner sliding sideways as its going to fast.. wipes my wingmirror off and keeps sliding into the kerb.. and the idiot just kept on driving.

before he was even 20 meters infront of me i had slammed it into first and was after him... quickly caught up and pulled him too the side, the guy was clearly drunk but I got all his details then went down to the police station and reported him.. to police where totally uninterested in the fact that this guy was driving and drunk..

I got an estimate on my mirror for £130 (painted mirrors) got a cheque off the guy and fixed it myself for about £20, found out a few months later the guy died cause of his liver.. (he was basicaly a george best drunk)

Feel slightly sorry for the guy but at the same time it could of been a person he wiped out not just my wing mirror.

Theres no excuse for drink driving, not surprised in the police not being interested though, there only there when you dont want them. Dad reckons I should have gone throught the insurance and got my (already) broken electric mirrors fixed, just my word against his though so I didnt think it would work.

Unfortunatly I didnt have my mobile with me at the time otherwise I wouldve phoned em..

I dont think I would have been as restrained as you.. those people are the people that hit your mirror when its parked outside your house then drive off leaving you to foot the bill.
