alpine hu-thinks its got a cd in

a while ago my alpine cd player cda76787(i think) stoppeed working. It
sounded like it was trying to eject a cd but i knew there wasnt one in
there. I got it fixed under warranty though. The guy told me that it thought
it had a disc in there and thats why it wouldnt work. i was just wondering
if anyone knew how to fix this?

yes there should be a reset button on the face of the unit
