Alternative to AVG 7.5....And 8

Made the switch to 8, dont liek it. Whats good and doesnt try to be like norton (scan every bit of data that your bloody processor processes....... and just does what its' ment to do ??

If scanning everything is giving you performance issues mate (it was for me with an MMORPG) you can tell it to ignore specific folders or even not do the scan every file that opens bit. I've never understood why anti virus software does that, weekly full system scans have always worked for me - any more seems like overkill.

But anyway to actually answer your question a lot of people here seems to like nod 32, avast or kaspersky, basically anything other than Norton

I've switched from Bitdefender to NOD32. Found a 3 month NOD32 trial so can try it out for a decent amount of time before buying it. So far I'm very impressed at how light weight it is.

Avast used to be good, dunno what its like now.

I use Avast, turned a few features off (ie: E-mail because i dont use outlook). It works a treat, no pop up box like AVG had downloading updates, it just tells you when its done and goes away. I like it

Kaspersky is the best IMO, finds everything, can deal with everything, doesnt ground your system to a halt

i do like McAfee actually aswell, seems to have everything covered and not too resource hungry

A extremely good and lightweight AV, use Nod32. Wins hands down.
