Alternatives to big exhausts??

  Ph1 track 172
basically, im on a bit of a de-chaving spree

(tints off, black rear lights changed for ph2 ones)

i have a rediculous remus twin exit exhaust
that i want too see the back of,

what i really want, is an exhaust like the standard one,
that cannot be seen,

however i like the noise of putting your foot down and DO NOT like the price of the ktec stealth exhaust,

since its only a 1.2 8v, i dont see the point in spending 230 on a performance exhaust,

is there anywhere else that offers a hidden exhaust that still gives that growl??

Do you like the noise your current one makes ? If so take the car to an exhaust place (there is one in basildon called pipecraft which is ok) he'll modify your one for you, so it can't be seen.

i'd look at maybe going back to standard, secondhand one from a scrappy and getting an induction kit to bring back the noise

i was thinking that,
however i like the idle 'rumble'

also, the exhaust ive got at the moment would not be viable to get it modified,

can anyone give an idea of price for pipecraft to make an exhaust??
or do they only moddify them??

I have a standard replacement one from kwik fit that is very rumbly, putting renault one back on NYD hopefully, if your interested

Std catback with a de-cat or silencer removed??

Pipecraft probably will do you one, whether or not it'll imporve performance or not I don't know. Your best off going along to them, they are on one of the industrial estates in basildon (number will be in the yellow pages etc)

Imo going the de-cat route (as suggested by others) isn't worth it on your car, sure it'll be noisy but I don't think you'll get much else from it.

tbh, im not looking at any kind of performance on my 1.2 8v
ive come to terms with the fact its slow,

i have looked at the ktec stealth,
but it just seems abit pricey.

cheers for your replies people, i think ill go along to pipecraft as see what they say,

How did you de-tint?
by picking off a corner,
and pulling, then a good hour cleaning the glue off,
